OVERCOMING TEMPTATIONS 2
(week 26/15)
OLUBI JOHNSON

Last week, we saw that we, like the Lord Jesus can overcome ALL temptations WITH OUR THOUGHTS by using the WORD OF GOD IN OUR HEARTS EMPOWERED BY THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT!

This week, we will see HOW to do this in detail.

To do this SUCCESSFULLY, we must SYNERGISE the Holy Spirit by the power of our prayers: in the Spirit and the understanding and with our thoughts, so directing the power of God to bring into captivity EVERY thought to the obedience of Christ and so overcoming EVERY temptation fulfilling:

2Corinthians 10:5 KJV: Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity EVERY thought to the obedience of Christ;

Proverbs 23:7 KJV: For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.

Practically, this is done by releasing the power of God by:

1. Praying in tongues and travail (Eph. 6.18, Rom. 8.26-29, Col.4.12, Gal. 4.19) as a daily habit early during the 4th watch like the Lord Jesus did:

Hebrews 5:7 KJV: Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;

Mark 1:35 KJV: And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

2. Speaking God’s Word with our mouths at least once every 6 hours:

Deuteronomy 30:14 KJV: But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.

Deuteronomy 6:7 NKJV: You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.

Mark 13:35 NKJV: Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming—in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning—

2Samuel 6:13 KJV: And it was so, that when they that bare the ark of the LORD had gone six paces, he sacrificed oxen and fatlings.

We then DIRECT this POWER, which has been released by praying in the spirit and speaking God’s Word, WITH OUR THOUGHTS by FREQUENTLY asking God for mercy with thanksgiving with our thoughts AND at the onset of EVERY TEMPTATION.

Jude 1:20-21 KJV: But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,  (21) Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

Colossians 4:2 KJV: Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;

This mercy of God will DIRECT the power of the blood of Jesus (into our navel: symbolic of the entrance into our belly (spirit or innermost being (Jn.7.38)) to cleanse our hearts from any spot or block of sin and a guilty conscience so the life and power of God can flow freely; eternal life to fill our stomachs (symbolic of our spirits (Jn.7.38)) and power of God (from our chests (Rev.1.13) representing the area of the overflow of the life of God from spirits: the abundance of the heart (Lk.6.45)) INTO our wills, minds, emotions (represented by area of our brains in our heads), bodies and circumstances causing GOD’S THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS TO overcome the lusts Satan is impinging on our wills, minds, emotions, bodies and circumstances SO ENABLING US TO OVERCOME THEM!

As we practice this, we will GRADUALLY OVERCOME ALL TEMPTATIONS and so inherit the crown of life IN THIS LIFE TIME (Mk.10.29-30) and grow to become spiritual Kings:

1John 4:17 KJV: Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

James 1:12 AMP: Blessed (happy, to be envied) is the man who is patient under trial and stands up under temptation, for when he has stood the test and been approved, he will receive [the victor’s] crown of life which God has promised to those who love Him.
