Fulfilling Your Prophetic Destiny 2
(week 47/04)
Olubi Johnson

In our article last week, we saw that every human being has a prophetic destiny hidden in God’s Word before the foundation of the world. However, to fulfill this prophetic destiny we need to make the right choices, utterances and actions in our life here on the earth.

We saw from Dt. 30.19 we need to choose life and now we see from

Matthew 12:36-37 NKJV: But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. 37 For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

that we also need to speak the right words.

Furthermore, how much of and how well we fulfill our destiny depends on the completeness and quality of our spiritual labour in God:

Ruth 2:12 NKJV: The LORD repay your work, and a full reward be given you by the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings you have come for refuge.”

2 John 8 NKJV: Look to yourselves, that we do not lose those things we worked for, but that we may receive a full reward.

1 Corinthians 3:10-15 NKJV: For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13 each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. 14 If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. 15 If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.

These scriptures imply that you may receive a reward that is not full or complete because of your utterances and actions.

For instance, the words of the children of Israel in the wilderness robbed them of their destiny to enter the promise land.

Num 14:27-30 NKJV: Say to them, ‘As I live,’ says the LORD, ‘just as you have spoken in My hearing, so I will do to you: 29 The carcasses of you who have complained against Me shall fall in this wilderness, all of you who were numbered, according to your entire number, from twenty years old and above. 30 Except for Caleb the son of Jephunneh and Joshua the son of Nun, you shall by no means enter the land which I swore I would make you dwell in.

Conversely, Daniel and the 3 Hebrew boys fulfilled their destiny in Babylon, a foreign land, by speaking the right words to Nebuchadnezzar and his servants:

Daniel 2:46-49 NKJV: Then King Nebuchadnezzar fell on his face, prostrate before Daniel, and commanded that they should present an offering and incense to him. 47 The king answered Daniel, and said, “Truly your God is the God of gods, the Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, since you could reveal this secret.” 48 Then the king promoted Daniel and gave him many great gifts; and he made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief administrator over all the wise men of Babylon. 49 Also Daniel petitioned the king, and he set Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego over the affairs of the province of Babylon; but Daniel sat in the gate of the king.

Now, there are 3 major areas revealed in scripture in which all men are to fulfil their prophetic destiny:

1. Being conformed to the image of Christ in this life time:

Romans 8:29 NKJV: For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.

John 14:12 NKJV: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.

1 John 4:17 NKJV: Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.

2. Long physical life to have time to be satisfied that you have fulfilled your destiny on the earth. Now it is true many people do not live long but this is not because God did not want them to but because they did not walk in the wisdom of God sufficiently.

Psalms 91:16 NIV: With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

Proverbs 3:1-2 NIV: My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, 2 for they will prolong your life many years and bring you prosperity.

Proverbs 9:10-11 NIV: “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. 11 For through me your days will be many, and years will be added to your life.

These scriptures show conclusively that it is God’s will for us to live long enough to be satisfied we have fulfilled his purpose for us: This is the prophetic destiny of all men except for the Lord Jesus Christ who lived a short life by choice and the design of the Father so he could die for our sins and be raised from the dead for our justification.

John 10:17-18 NKJV: Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. 18 No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again.

3.Financial and Social success.

Deuteronomy 28:11-13 NKJV: The LORD will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow. 13 And the LORD will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them.

Now, for you to fulfill these prophetic destinies, you must walk diligently, as a daily habit, in the love of God by using the written Word and the power of the Holy Spirit in prayer.
