Fulfilling Your Prophetic Destiny
(week 46/04)
Olubi Johnson

Every human being has a prophetic destiny hidden in the scriptures, which God wants us to fulfill:

Revelation 22:19 NKJV: and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things, which are written in this book.

Here, the scripture reveals that every person has a part in the book of life, the holy city and things written in the Word of God (not just the book of revelation).

This thought is further confirmed in:

Colossian 3:3 NKJV: Your life is hidden with Christ in God.

Remember that Christ is the living Word (Jn.1.1) whom the written Word reveals so your life is hidden in the written Word.

1 Corinthians 2:7 NKJV: No, we speak of God’s secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began.

Every human being has a prophetic destiny hidden in God’s Word foreordained even before they were born.

God revealed this specifically about Jeremiah but it is true of all men otherwise

God would be a respecter of persons, which He is not (Act. 10.34).

Jer 1:4-5 NKJV: The word of the LORD came to me, saying, 5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

Also speaking of Christ the Bible says:

Psalms 40:7: Then I said, “Here I am, I have come– it is written about me in the scroll.

This is also applies to all men since all men have a destiny in Christ: it is God’s will for all men to be saved (2 Pet.3.9). So all men have a part in the book of life and there are things written about them in the book or scroll according to Rev. 22.19 quoted above.

The question then is why do people not fulfill their prophetic destiny?

Since it has been predestined and foreordained by God why does it not automatically come to pass?

The basic reason is that man has been given a free will to either choose or reject the destiny God has prepared for him.

Deuteronomy 30:18-19 NKJV: I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;

Our choices, utterances and actions will determine how much of and how well we fulfill our prophetic destiny. In our article next week, we will see how to fulfill our prophetic destiny.
