THE FULNESS OF GOD 2
(week 46/11)
Olubi Johnson

In our article last week, we saw that the bodily-fulness of the Godhead that was dwelling (or functional and operational) in the Lord Jesus when He was on earth as a man is available to us individually and collectively (by covering) as Christians.

The purpose of this fulness of God or Spirit without measure is to enable us save the nations from the distress they are in at this point in human history, because of man’s separation from God and humanity’s consequent abounding iniquity that is defiling the planet.

Luke 21:25 KJV: And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

Matthew 24:12 KJV: and because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

Leviticus 18:22-25 KJV: Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.  (23) Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion.  (24) Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you:  (25) and the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.

Roman 8:22 AMP: We know that the whole creation [of irrational creatures] has been moaning together in the pains of labor until now. [Jer. 12:4, 11.]

Jeremiah 12:4 AMP: How long must the land mourn and the grass and herbs of the whole country wither? Through the wickedness of those who dwell in it, the beasts and the birds are consumed and are swept away [by the drought], because men [mocked] me, saying, He shall not [live to] see our final end.

This is why we are seeing an unprecedented upsurge in the frequency of earthquakes, floods, and other geographic and climatic disasters on the earth.

The good news in all of this is that God is going to save the nations from this distress by coming in a ‘cloud’ (Pr. 25:14) of the fulness of the apostolic ministry gift (Eph. 4:8-11) with power and glory, in the perfection and fulness of Christ manifesting the fulness of God; and this coming is imminent because of the increase in the frequency of the earthquakes, floods and other natural disasters:

Luke 21:26-28 KJV: Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. (27) And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.  (28) And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

(It is instructive to note here that there will be a literal fulfillment of this scripture when the Lord Jesus returns and comes with us at the end of the great tribulation (Mt. 24:15-31; Rev. 6-19); however, in the manifold wisdom of God, it is a symbolic prophetic fulfillment of the same scripture that we have applied here.)

This coming of the Lord in us (2 Th. 1:10) in the perfection and fulness of Christ will be the panacea for the fear and anxiety of men’s hearts in this season of the distress of the nations:

Isaiah 35:4 KJV: Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you.

Furthermore, this coming of the Lord in us will bring great divine knowledge and wisdom that through the Church (Eph. 3:10) will bring stability to this time of great economic shaking and crisis fulfilling:

Haggai 2:7-9 KJV: And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come:and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts. (8) The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts. (9) The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts.

Isaiah 33:5-6 KJV: The LORD is exalted; for he dwelleth on high: he hath filled Zion with judgment and righteousness.  (6) And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the LORD is his treasure.

Prophetically speaking, when the ‘Pharaohs’ (Gen. 41) or ‘Nebuchadnezzars’ (Dan. 2): the leaders of the nations of our times lose their sleep and peace, they will call for the ‘Josephs’ and ‘Daniels’ in the perfect church to give them the knowledge and wisdom that will bring stability to this time of shaking; and so the desire of the nations will be turned to the Lord Jesus. This will ultimately lead to the breaking, ruling and discipling of the nations  and so the close (Mt. 24:14) of this age!

How then will the church be filled with this fulness of God?

By perfecting the love of God as revealed in Paul’s prayer in

Ephesians 3:14-19 KJV: For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,  (15)  Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,  (16)  That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;  (17)  That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,  (18)  May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;  (19)  And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

Observe that to be filled with all the fulness of God, you need to have Christ dwelling (or active or operational) in your heart (spirit and soul: will, mind and emotions) by faith, become rooted and grounded in love; then have the love of God developed in knowledge and comprehension (Phil. 1:9-11) to all saints, so that you love all saints even when you have more knowledge than them (“the love of Christ which passeth knowledge”). As all this is taking place through prayer with the life of God and praying in the Spirit (1Cor. 14:2, Eph. 6:18), the grace of God (i.e. the measure of the life of God (1 Pet. 3:7)) will be sequentially multiplied (2 Pet. 1:2-3; Jn. 1:16) as it is given unto you, until you ultimately have access to the same bodily-fulness of the Godhead that the Lord Jesus had access to when He was here, causing you to fulfill:

John 14:12 KJV: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
