LIFE AND MEDICINE

Proverbs 4:20-22 NKJV:  My son, attend to my words; consent and submit to my sayings. (21)  Let them not depart from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart. (22)  For they are life to those who find them, healing and health to all their flesh.

Here the scripture instructs us to give our attention to God’s Word for through His Word we will receive His life which in turn will bring healing and health to ALL OUR FLESH: THE WHOLE PHYSICAL BODY.

Sometimes, God’s divine life and medicine will be complemented by natural medicine to keep us alive and heal us, like God did when He healed Hezekiah from a sickness that was going to kill him, by applying a cluster of figs on the boil to heal him.

Isaiah 38:1-5 KJV:  In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amos came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live. (2)  Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the LORD, (3)  And said, Remember now, O LORD, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore. (4)  Then came the word of the LORD to Isaiah, saying, (5)  Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.

Isaiah 38:9 KJV: The writing of Hezekiah king of Judah, when he had been sick, and was recovered of his sickness:

Isaiah 38:17-21 KJV:  Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back. (18)  For the grave cannot praise thee, death can not celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth. (19)  The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth. (20)  The LORD was ready to save me: therefore we will sing my songs to the stringed instruments all the days of our life in the house of the LORD. (21)  For Isaiah had said, let them take a lump of figs, and lay it for a plaister upon the boil, and he shall recover.

It is God’s perfect will that we live in good health and so live long with divine protection to fulfill the fulness of our divine destiny to grow into the perfection and fulness of Christ in this lifetime:

Psalms 91:9-16 KJV:  Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; (10)  There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. (11)  For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. (12)  They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. (13)  Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. (14)  Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. (15)  He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. (16)  With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

Ephesians 4:13-15 KJV:  Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: (14)  That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; (15)  But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

1John 4:17 KJV:  Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

How do you practically attend to God’s Word: fulfill Proverbs 4:20-22?

  1. Attend to my words DAILY BALANCED BIBLE READING.
  2. Incline thine ear unto my sayings: listen to anointed prophetic and apostolic preaching and teaching WEEKLY.
  3. Let them not depart from thine eyes: pray using the blood, the Word and the power of the Spirit (praying in tongues and groanings (Mk.7:34, Jn. 11:33,38) at LEAST ONCE EVERY 6 HOURS (Dt.6:7, 2 Sam.6:13, Mk. 13:35) and at every opportunity as led by the Spirit (Gen.24:27) and by this in every temptation by asking for the mercies of God (Rom.12:1, 1 Cor.7:25, Rom.9:16) WITH YOUR THOUGHTS as YOU ACT ON THE WORD.
  4. Keep them in the midst of your heart: Fill your heart with the life and power of God using life scriptures by faith (2 Pet.1:4, Prov.18:20-21; Dt.30:14; 19-20).

If you practice these instructions, the life and power of God will fill your spirit, soul: will, mind, emotions and body and will be medicine to ALL YOUR FLESH, keeping you healed and healthy and enable you to fulfill:

Proverbs 4:23-27 KJV:  Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. (24)  Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee. (25)  Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. (26)  Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. (27)  Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.

Selah!
