LIFE, POWER AND COVERING
(week 38/11)

John.5:26 KJV: For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;

The life of God is substance or spiritual fluid that God has in Himself, that makes Him God.

This is just like blood that flows inside the physical body, the substance that flows inside God is this life; it is translated from the Greek word ‘Zoë’. It is also called “eternal life” and “everlasting life”.

This life intrinsically has in it all the divine attributes of love, wisdom and power: it is what makes God, God.

When the Holy Spirit injects this life into the human spirit that human spirit is recreated, the person becomes literally a child of God, having the same divine nature God has.

As we pray in the Spirit (with tongues (1 Cor. 14:2) and with all kinds of prayer in the Spirit (Eph. 6:18)) with our hearts full of this divine life, then the power of God (Greek word is ‘dunamis’) is released from our spirits through our mouths and bodies (Jn. 7:37-39).

We can call the power of God (dunamis) processed life (Zoë).

We receive life directly from God (I am the vine and you are the branches Jn. 15:5) and then we process that life by prayer in the Spirit and then we release the power. This is similar to putting diesel in a generator and then the generator uses or processes the diesel to produce and release electrical power.

The diesel is likened to the ‘Zoë’ and the electrical power to ‘dunamis’.

Similarly, we receive the life of God through promises in the Word (2 Pet.1:4) then we use that life to pray in the Spirit to release the power of God:

1. Power for healing and deliverance (Act. 10:38);

2. Power to get wealth (Dt.8:18);

3. Power for the fruit of the Spirit (Gal. 5.22): love, joy, peace, longsuffering, patience, gentleness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness, temperance;

4. Power for protection (Ps. 91).

Now, those in leadership in the Church giving covering release a great measure of this power for the covering of those under their leadership.

Covering  (Is. 32:1-2; 1 Cor. 5:4) is the power of God released through a leadership in cleansing perfection and maturity.

The cleansing perfection in the leadership makes the release of power very efficient as no power is wasted in the soul and body of the leader to overcome the sin-nature.

This power amplifies the power being released by those under the covering gives them a significant increase in: right doing, healing, deliverance, prosperity and protection.

Covering does not substitute for your prayers: it simply adds to and amplifies the power of God you generate by your own prayers. So if you generate nothing, covering will have nothing to amplify; conversely the more you generate the greater the amplification and increase you will get:

Mark 4:25 AMP: For to him who has will more be given; and from him who has nothing, even what he has will be taken away [by force],

Furthermore, this covering activates and enforces the unity of the Spirit by washing of feet: forgiving, confessing and cleansing of sin (Jn. 20.23, 1 Pet. 4.8, 1 Jn. 1.9), asking for life (1 Jn. 5:16) and praying in tongues (Jud. 1:20-21) as revealed in

Psalms 133:1-3 AMP: A Song of Ascents. Of David. BEHOLD, HOW good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!  (2)  It is like the precious ointment poured on the head, that ran down on the beard, even the beard of Aaron [the first high priest], that came down upon the collar and skirts of his garments [consecrating the whole body] .[Exod. 30:25, 30.]  (3)  It is like the dew of [lofty] Mount Hermon and the dew that comes on the hills of Zion; for there the Lord has commanded the blessing, even life forevermore [upon the high and the lowly].

Observe that the power of God comes from God (the Head–(1 Cor. 5:4)) through the prayers of the leadership (Aaron’s beard) unto the skirts of his garment so covering the whole body. For instance, touching the hem of Jesus’ garment healed the woman with the issue of blood (Mk. 5:25-34): this symbolizes the fact that even the smallest member of the body of Christ under proper covering will be able to heal the sick (Is.8.18, Mk. 16.18).

Furthermore, the measure and rate at which the power flows through each member depends on:

1. The degree of reverence for God and his leadership (Lk. 10:16, Mk. 6:5).

2. The degree of practice of the instructions given by God through the leadership (Pr. 4:1,13; Heb. 13:17).

3. The degree of faithfulness (not just amount but consistency) in giving to those who teach you the Word (Gal. 6:6-8) in measure commensurate to what God has blessed you with (1 Cor. 8:12).

So, we are to receive life from God in greater and greater measures as we grow spiritually, then use this life to generate the power of God in our lives and have this power amplified by staying under covering so as to have the power of God in sufficient measure (2 Cor. 12:9) to always triumph (2 Cor. 2:14) over any Satanic attack or temptation!
