KNOWLEDGE OF HIS GLORY
(month 02/18)
OLUBI JOHNSON

2Corinthians 4:6 KJV:  For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

John 1:14 KJV:  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

John 2:11 KJV:  This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.

Habakkuk 2:14  For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

The scriptures above show us that God is giving us the knowledge of the glory of God that was in the face of Jesus Christ: that was manifested through Him as a man when He was here on earth as exemplified in the miracle of turning water to wine at the wedding in Cana of Galilee.

Furthermore, God wants the knowledge of this glory to fill the whole earth!

Why?

Firstly, this manifestation and thus knowledge of the glory of God will complete the perfection and unity of the church:

John 17:22-23 KJV:  And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: (23)  I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

Without the manifestation of this glory, the unity of the knowledge of the Son of God and the perfection of holiness in the church will remain unfulfilled.

It is the manifestation of this glory that will cause us to become united in the CORRECT, COMPLETE AND EXACT knowledge of the Son of God, as we, the church will all acknowledge that those who must have gotten this knowledge, or, epignosis God confirms with the manifestation of His glory! This is similar to how God confirmed His approval of Moses’ and Aaron’s leadership by causing Aaron’s rod to blossom (Num. 17.1-10).

Also the fire of this manifest glory will ‘burn’ up the last vestiges of the love of sin in our wills, minds, emotions and bodies:

Malachi 3:1-3 HCSB:  “I’m going to send my messenger, and he will clear the way ahead of me. Then the Lord you are looking for will suddenly come to his temple. The messenger of the promise will come. He is the one you want,” says the LORD of Armies. (2)  But who will be able to endure the day he comes? Who will be able to survive on the day he appears? He is like a purifying fire and like a cleansing soap. (3)  He will act like a refiner and a purifier of silver. He will purify Levi’s sons and refine them like gold and silver. Then they will bring acceptable offerings to the LORD.

Romans 12:1 KJV:  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. (2)  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Mark 9:49 KJV:  For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.

Isaiah 4:4 KJV: When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning.

Also, this manifestation of God’s glory will STRONGLY MOTIVATE many in the church to use the Blood (Heb.13.20-21, 1 Jn. 1.7-10), the Word (1 Jn. 2.5, 2 Pet.1.4, 2 Cor. 7.1) and the power of the Holy Spirit (1 Jn.4.12-13, Rom. 8.10-13; 26-29) to purify their souls, bodies and conduct fulfilling

1John 3:2-3 KJV:  Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. (3)  And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

Secondly, this manifestation of this glory will dispel the current gross spiritual and moral darkness presently covering the nations of the earth:

Isaiah 60:1-5 HCSB:  “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you. (2)  See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you. (3)  Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn. (4)  “Lift up your eyes and look about you: All assemble and come to you; your sons come from afar, and your daughters are carried on the hip. (5)  Then you will look and be radiant, your heart will throb and swell with joy; the wealth on the seas will be brought to you, to you the riches of the nations will come.

Isaiah 2:2-3 HCSB:  In the last days the mountain of the LORD’s temple will be established as the highest of the mountains; it will be exalted above the hills, and all nations will stream to it. (3)  Many peoples will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the temple of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.” The law will go out from Zion, the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

To HASTEN the day of the manifestation of this glory, we should NOW seek the Lord for MORE GRACE AND MERCY with honesty and humility of heart, so as to pray MORE FREQUENTLY AND FERVENTLY in the Spirit for the knowledge and manifestation of this glory!

2Corinthians 4:1 KJV:  Therefore seeing we have this ministry, AS WE HAVE RECEIVED MERCY we faint not; (2)  But have RENOUNCED THE HIDDEN THINGS OF DISHONESTY, not walking in craftiness, NOR HANDLING THE WORD OF GOD DECEITFULLY; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.

James 4:6 KJV:  But he giveth MORE GRACE. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

Romans 9:16 KJV:  So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

Luke 21:36 KJV:  Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Ephesians 6:18 KJV:  Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
