OBTAINING THE GLORY
(week 09/17)
OLUBI JOHNSON

2Thessalonians 2:14 KJV:  Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Here the scripture reveals to us our calling: to obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ!

The glory of God is the power of God in physical manifestation that men can see and physical perceive as it was manifested in the life and ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ. This was exemplified when the Lord Jesus turned water to wine and when He raised Lazarus from the dead:

John 2:11 KJV:  This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.

John 11:40 KJV:  Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?

John 11:43-44 KJV:  And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. (44)  And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with grave clothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, loose him, and let him go.

God wants us to obtain this SAME GLORY in THIS LIFETIME as the scriptures reveal in

John 14:12 KJV:   Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Ephesians 4:15 KJV:    But speaking the truth in love, may GROW UP INTO HIM IN ALL THINGS, which is the head, EVEN CHRIST:

John 17:22-23 KJV:   And THE GLORY WHICH THOU GAVEST ME I HAVE GIVEN THEM; that they may be one, even as we are one: (23)  I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

God wants us to obtain this glory in this life time as a witness to ALL nations, to break, rule and disciple them and so close this age fulfilling the prophetic scriptures:

Isaiah 40:5 KJV:  And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

Isaiah 25:6-7 NIV:  On this mountain the LORD Almighty will prepare a feast of rich food for all peoples, a banquet of aged wine— the best of meats and the finest of wines. (7)  On this mountain he will destroy the shroud that enfolds all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations;

We will obtain this glory, FIRSTLY, as a borrowed anointing and then later as an inherited anointing by gradually growing into the perfection and fulness of Christ using the blood, the Word and the power of the Holy Spirit fulfilling:

Hebrews 13:20-21 KJV:  Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, (21)  Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

1John 2:5 KJV:  But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

1John 4:12-13 NKJV:  No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us. (13)  By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit.

We gradually perfect the love of God in us by watching and praying ALWAYS using the blood, the Word and the Spirit at least once every 6 hours (Deuteronomy 6.7, Mark 13.35, 2 Samuel 6.13) and so at every opportunity and in every temptation with our thoughts and actions.
