THE JOSHUA, DAVID AND SOLOMON GENERATION 2
(week 20/13)
OLUBI JOHNSON

In our last article, we saw that we are living in the generation that will see the close of this age according to Mt. 24:34: the generation that sees the ‘fig tree’ typifying the natural nation of Israel bringing forth her ‘leaves’. Israel was restored to the land God gave to them over 4000 years ago as geo-political nation in 1948.

We saw that this generation has 3 sets of Christians: 1st generation Christians filled with the Holy Spirit with initial evidence of speaking in tongues (Ac.2:4; 10:44; 19:6), their children: 2nd generation and their grandchildren: 3rd generation according to Is. 59:21; the last generation is yet to be born according to Ps. 22:30-31.

Now, the good news is that anybody who is alive today and who gets born-again and filled with the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues (Ac. 2:4; 10:44; 19:6) can be a part of this Joshua, David and Solomon finishing generation, no matter how old or young they are:

If we use the Lord Jesus and Moses as types or examples:

The Lord Jesus started at 12 (Lk. 2:42) and inherited the glory at 30 (Lk.3:33) and fulfilled His purpose at 33: it took the Lord Jesus 21 years.

Moses started at 40 (Ac. 7:23), inherited the glory at 80 (Ex.7:7) and fulfilled His purpose to build the Tabernacle, set up the priesthood and write the Torah at about 120 (Dt. 34:7): it took Moses 80 years.

In between the extremes of the Lord Jesus and Moses, we have Enoch starting at 65 (Gen.5:21-22); Abraham at 75 (Gen.12:4); Joseph at 17 (Gen.37:2); Caleb at 45 (Josh.14:6-10); David at about 17-19 (1 Sam.17:55; Num.1:3).

So, we see that no matter how old or young you are, if you get born-again and filled with the Holy Spirit and get serious with God by getting a spiritual education to grow (Eph. 4:15) into the perfection and fulness of Christ.

God in His wisdom and mercy has given space for our human weaknesses and failings (Heb. 2:17-18) so, however late we start (though it always better to start as early as possible (Eccl. 12:1)), God will satisfy us with long life (Ps. 91:16) to be able to have enough time to manifest His glory and fulfill our purpose.

Now, this finishing generation is called the Joshua, David and Solomon generation because what they will fulfill is typified in the lives of Joshua, David and Solomon.

Joshua captures Jericho (Joshua 6.1-20) that typifies this perfect end-time church becoming the most powerful financial institution on the earth (Dt. 28:10-13) and using this great financial power (Dt. 8:18) and influence to break, rule and disciple the nations.

David captures Jerusalem and Zion (2 Sam. 5:6-9): this typifies the church experiencing cleansing perfection and making this experience of cleansing perfection available and accessible to any one who gets born-again, as there will be many people that they will see walking in it whose example they follow and copy (Heb. 6:12).

Solomon builds the temple, this typifies this end-time church being transformed from a ‘Tabernacle’ which it presently is to a spiritual temple made of ‘stones’ of individual Christian who have the revelation and experience of cleansing perfection and are manifesting the glory of God on a permanent consistent basis typified by the removing of the staves from the ark of the covenant in the temple (2 Chr. 5:7-9) indicating it would no longer be moved but remain permanently in the temple. They will be built on the foundation of present day apostles and prophets (Eph. 2:20-21) whose preachings, teachings, lives and examples they will follow (Php. 3:17; 1 Cor. 11:1) to get the revelation and experience of cleansing perfection and manifesting the glory of God. These Christians will be found in every geo- political nation on the earth on every continent will become gateways for anyone earth to ‘see’ and ‘enter’ God’s temple that is filled with His glory. This is typified by the glory of God that filled the temple of Solomon and was to a be showpiece to all nations of the earth (1 Chr. 22:5; Ps. 48:1-2; Is. 60:1-5).

It is this temple that is present in every geo-political nation that will now in turn disciple every tribe, tongue and kindred in that geo-political nation and so close the age according to

Matthew 24:14 NKJV: And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

Revelation 7:9 NKJV: After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands
