OVERCOMING DISHONESTY, UNBELIEF, DISOBEDIENCE AND REBELLION 2
(week 05/17)
OLUBI JOHNSON

In our last article, we saw that dishonesty: not accepting OBVIOUS, SELF-EVIDENT truth in your heart, causes a withdrawal of God’s light from the heart leading to an obscurity of the invisible spiritual realities of God’s existence and power: which is unbelief.

This withdrawal of God’s life and light causes the heart to deteriorate into a terrible condition of disobedience, rebellion and stubbornness even for born-again Christians who do not allow their souls: wills, minds and emotions to be FIRSTLY renewed and then subsequently CONSISTENTLY dominated by the divine nature (2 Peter 1.4) and character from their spirits by using the blood (Hebrews 13.20-21), the Word (James 1.21) and the power of the Holy Spirit (Titus 3.5).

The good news is that this condition can be reversed and afterwards avoided by the CONSTANT exercise of honesty of heart in confession of sins for the regular cleansing of the blood of Jesus, receiving the life of God, speaking and meditating of God’s Word and praying in the Spirit as shown in

Act 24:16 KJV:  And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.

1John 1:7-10 KJV:  But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. (8)  If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. (9)  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness. (10)  If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

John 6:53-58 KJV:  Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. (54)  Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. (55)  For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. (56)  He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. (57)  As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. (58)  This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.

John 6:63 NKJV:  It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.

2Peter 1:4 KJV:  by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Proverbs 4:20-22 NKJV:  My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. (21)  Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; (22)  For they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.

Joshua 1:8 NKJV:  This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

Deuteronomy 30:14 NKJV:  But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it.

Jude 1:20 KJV:  But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,

So, by the blood, the Word and the power of the Holy Spirit, we can overcome dishonesty, unbelief and rebellion.
