ZION, SAVIOURS AND TARES 2
(week 38/16)
OLUBI JOHNSON

In our last article, we saw that as we grow spiritually into the perfection of Christ, symbolized by the Zion Church, God starts diverting a significant measure of the life and power of God we generate to save others in the church, making us saviours from Mount Zion (Obadiah 1.21) and causing us to experience ‘death’ in our bodies and circumstances.

This week, we will see how God uses the ‘saviours’ to nourish and hopefully save the ‘tares’ in the church.

It is instructive to note that the life the ‘saviours’ are giving out is what is feeding the ‘tares’ (Matthew 13.37-43) in the body in the hope that they will wake up spiritually  (Matthew 13.25) and so repent of their iniquity and offence (Matthew 13. 41) and so change from being tares to children of the Kingdom: those who will actively enforce the Kingdom in their lives daily!

This is the reason why the Lord MERCIFULLY has not allowed the ‘tares’ to be rooted up: to give them time to repent and change, being fed and nourished by the life and power the ‘saviours’ in the church have been supplying.

Matthew 13:27-29 KJV:  So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? (28)  He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? (29)  But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.

This truth of this ‘resurrection’ in this lifetime and mortal body that will be experienced by those in the perfect Zion church is further shown in

Joel 2:23-27 KJV:  Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. (24)  And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the fats shall overflow with wine and oil. (25)  And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. (26)  And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed. (27)  And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.

It is the ‘tares’ that are referred to in verse 25 as the cankerworm, caterpillar and the palmerworm.

So who then is a ‘tare’?

A ‘tare’ is any one who is sleeping spiritually (Matthew 13.25) and so is being dominated by sin-nature in the soul and body; all such people should WAKE UP, REPENT and start bringing forth more of the fruit of the spirit and so change from ‘tare’ to ‘wheat’.

Hence this present truth prophetic message!

Romans 13:11-14 KJV:  And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. (12)  The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. (13)  Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. (14)  But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

Furthermore, the tares are characterized by their impure motives as shown in

Philippians 1:15-18 KJV:  Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will (16)  The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds: (17)  But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel. (18)  What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.

IF they do not repent and change they will be burned or cut-off as shown in

Matthew 13:30 KJV:  Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

1Corinthians 3:15 KJV:  If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.

Luke 13:6-9 KJV:  He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none. (7)  Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground? (8)  And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it: (9)  And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.

Sadly, about two-thirds (Zechariah 13.8) of the church will be ‘cut off’ AFTER the harvest of manifestation of the perfect church begins because they remained as ‘tares’ and refused to bring forth fruit even after being spiritually fed and nourished by the ‘saviours’ in Zion.

Zechariah 13:7-8 KJV:  Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the LORD of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones. (8)  And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.

The good news is that about one-third of the church is willing to do ALL of the will of God to bring forth fruit unto perfection

Zechariah 13:9 KJV:  And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.

So NOW WAKE UP spiritually and repent for the time of the harvest is come!

Selah!
