PERFECTING OBEDIENCE 3
(week 39/10)
OLUBI JOHNSON

In our article last week, we saw more steps of how to perfect obedience, using the way shown in the Tabernacle of Moses exemplified by the pattern of the Lord Jesus Himself.

This week, we will look at the final steps of this way that take us into ‘working’ in the Most Holy Place or the Holiest of all.

6. Tablets of stone (Ex.31:18; 34:28, Heb. 9:4):

The tablets of stone on which God wrote the Ten Commandments with His ‘finger’ were placed by Moses in the Ark of the covenant in the Holiest of all; now because God is light, it was God’s power of light (modern day laser beam) that was used by God to write the Ten commandments into the Tablets of stone.

Habakkuk 3:4 ESV: His brightness was like the light; rays flashed from his hand; and there he veiled his power.

This symbolizes the writing of God’s laws upon our hearts changing from hearts of ‘stone’: hard, deceitful and rebellious (Jer. 17:9); to hearts of flesh: humble, meek and obedient (Mt. 11:29).

Ezekiel 36:26-27 MKJV: And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. And I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. (27) And I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you shall keep My judgments and do them.

Hebrews 8:10-11 MKJV: For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My Laws into their mind and write them in their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. (11) And they shall not each man teach his neighbor, and each man his brother, saying, Know the Lord, for all shall know Me, from the least to the greatest.

Now, working or operating within the ‘veil’ in the Holiest of all God can now write His laws in our minds, wills and emotions by power of the light of His Word (just like we use light to write information on compact discs (CDs and DVDs) Rom. 1:20)) as we confess God’s Word and pray in tongues concerning the love of God and healing, prosperity, protection and other divine statutes and provisions.

7. Hidden Manna (Heb.9:4):

As you read and study your Bible, operating now in the light ‘Holiest of all’ you will see ‘hidden manna’: deep hidden truth (1 Cor. 2:7-16) from the written Word.

8. Aaron’s Rod that budded:

Aaron’s rod that budded symbolizes the flesh that was dead in sin (Rom. 8:10) bringing forth the fruit of the Spirit; furthermore this also (in the manifold wisdom of God Eph. 3:10) can symbolize bringing forth in ‘dead’ situations of temptations, trials and afflictions.

As you pray to wash feet, acknowledging the Lord with thanksgiving with frequent tongues and during temptations and trials ‘working’ in the ‘Holiest of all’ your flesh, like Aaron’s rod that budded, will bring forth the fruit of the Spirit as you overcome the lusts of the flesh, the lusts of the eyes and the pride of life.

As you practice this way as a daily habit you will gradually but surely perfect obedience in your experience fulfilling:

James 1:2-4 MKJV: My brothers, count it all joy when you fall into different kinds of temptations, (3) knowing that the trying of your faith works patience. (4) But let patience have its perfect work, so that you may be perfect and entire, lacking nothing.

During temptations, firstly acknowledge the presence of the Lord and ask Him for mercy to receive eternal life externally and then pray in Spirit to create a conducive circumstance to then secondly receive grace by confessing sins to clean with the blood and so receive eternal life internally and then pray in the Spirit to get the help of the Holy Spirit to overcome the temptation in this time of need.

Hebrews 4:16 MKJV: Therefore let us come boldly to the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Notice that the mercy comes first externally before the grace comes secondly internally, just like God created the physical body of man first in the garden of Eden, before breathing into that physical body internally the breathe of life.

Genesis 2:7 MKJV: And Jehovah God formed man of the dust of the ground (firstly), and (then secondly) breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

So, by receiving mercy and grace in this order we will get help from God in our times of need in temptations and trials and so perfect obedience in our lives!

In our article next week, we will see how perfecting obedience makes our calling and election sure!
