KEEPING SATAN OUT 3
(week 13/09)
Olubi Johnson

In our last articles we saw that we are to keep Satan from using the darkness or ignorance in our minds, will and emotions to get us out of the destiny God has prepared for us, by getting us to try to save our natural temporal life and so lose our higher, spiritual life and calling.

We do this by keeping our hearts with all diligence and praying without ceasing.

We keep our hearts with all diligence by keeping our thoughts, words and what we eat in line with the Word of God.

This week we will see how to pray without ceasing.

We pray without ceasing by ‘washing our feet’: confessing our sins to clean with the blood, asking God for life and praying in tongues to repent to will and do of God’s good pleasure’ at least once every six hours:

Joshua 1:8 AMP This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success.

1 John 3:23 MKJV and this is His commandment, that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as He gave us commandment.

John 13:14-15 ESV If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. (15) For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you.

John 13:34 ESV A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.

Deuteronomy 30:11-14 ESV (11) “For this commandment that I command you today is not too hard for you, neither is it far off. (12) It is not in heaven, that you should say, ‘Who will ascend to heaven for us and bring it to us that we may hear it and do it?’ (13) Neither is it beyond the sea, that you should say, ‘Who will go over the sea for us and bring it to us that we may hear it and do it?’ (14) But the word is very near you. It is in your mouth and in your heart, so that you can do it.

Deuteronomy 6:6-7 ESV and these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. (7) You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.

Mark 13:35 MKJV Then you watch, for you do not know when the lord of the house is coming, at evening, or at midnight, or at cockcrowing, or early;

2 Samuel 6:13 MKJV and it happened that when those who bore the ark of Jehovah had gone six steps, he sacrificed oxen and fatlings.

Furthermore, we frequently acknowledge the Holy Spirit at least once every conscious hour (Mt. 24.42) for mercy unto eternal life (Jude 1.21) and frequently pray in tongues (1 Cor. 14.2) throughout the day to commune and fellowship with God and so receive the wisdom (1 Cor. 2.7) and power of God to do God’s good pleasure throughout the day:

Proverbs 3:6 MKJV In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

Matthew 24:42 MKJV Therefore watch; for you do not know what hour your Lord comes.

Colossians 4:2 ESV Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.

Jude 1:20-21 KJVR But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, (21) Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

1 Corinthians 14:2 ESV For one who speaks in a tongue speaks not to men but to God; for no one understands him, but he utters mysteries in the Spirit.

1 Corinthians 2:7 MKJV But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, which God has hidden, predetermining it before the world for our glory;

1 Corinthians 14:18 ESV (18) I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you.

As we diligently practice these things we will gradually develop and perfect the habit of being in constant communion with God: praying without ceasing and so constantly grow in grace and mercy from God, causing us to triumph always in Christ, never to fall, so making our calling and election sure!

2 Peter 1:2 MKJV Grace and peace be multiplied to you through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,

2 Peter 1:10 MKJV Therefore, brothers, rather be diligent to make your calling and election sure, for if you do these things, you shall never fall.

2 Peter 3:18 ESV But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.

In our article next week we will look at the 3 levels of the mercy of God we are to grow into.
