DAY OF GOD’S VENGEANCE 4
(week 25/12)
OLUBI JOHNSON

In our last article, we saw that God’s vengeance upon His church is imminent and necessary to remove the proud and rebellious from the church and replace them with the meek and lowly (Zeph. 3:11-12), who like David will accept and practice all of the will of God (Ac. 13.22) and so cause a glorious church without spot or wrinkle (Eph. 5.26-27) to emerge.

This week, we will see why and how God’s vengeance will come upon the world.

Just like Satan tried to kill Moses (Ex.1: 16-22) and the Lord Jesus (Mt. 2:16-18) at the time they were born, even so today Satan is trying through terrorism and suicide killings to kill the ‘man-child’ or perfect church that is being birthed in the Spirit now.

Revelation 12:1-4 KJV: And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: (2) And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. (3) And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. (4) And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.

The ‘man-child’ church is a perfect church that is currently being birthed in from ‘beyond the rivers of Ethiopia’ in the land ‘which the rivers divide’; the firstfruits of this perfect church is being birthed in Nigeria: the nation, which is divided by rivers beyond the rivers of Ethiopia:

Isaiah 18:1-2 AMP: WOE TO the land whirring with wings which is beyond the rivers of Cush or Ethiopia, (2) That sends ambassadors by the Nile, even in vessels of papyrus upon the waters! Go, you swift messengers, to a nation tall and polished, to a people terrible from their beginning [feared and dreaded near and far], a nation strong and victorious, whose land the rivers divide!

Isaiah 18:7 AMP: At that time shall a present be brought to the Lord of hosts from a people tall and polished, from a people terrible from their beginning and feared and dreaded near and far, a nation strong and victorious, whose land the rivers or great channels divide–to the place [of worship] of the Name of the Lord of hosts, to Mount Zion [in Jerusalem]. [Deut. 12:5; II Chron. 32:23; Isa. 16:1; 45:14; Zeph. 3:10.]

Zephaniah 3:10 AMP: From beyond the rivers of Cush or Ethiopia those who pray to Me, the daughter of My dispersed people, will bring and present My offering.

Zephaniah 3:13-15 AMP: What is left of Israel shall not do iniquity or speak lies, neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth, for they shall feed and lie down and none shall make them afraid. (14) Sing, O Daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel! Rejoice, be in high spirits and glory with all your heart, O Daughter of Jerusalem [in that day]. (15) [For then it will be that] the Lord has taken away the judgments against you; He has cast out your enemy. The King of Israel, even the Lord [Himself], is in the midst of you; [and after He has come to you] you shall not experience or fear evil any more.

These scriptures speak symbolically and prophetically of a perfect church that will arise in a physical nation geographically located beyond the rivers of Ethiopia: sub-Saharan Africa; this nation will be divided by rivers; only Nigeria answers this description.

Furthermore, these scriptures speak of the ‘daughter’ of Zion (or perfect church Ps. 50.2) who are suppliants or intercessors from this nation beyond the rivers of Ethiopia. This Zion church will not do iniquity or speak lies (Rev. 14.1-5) or be afraid (1 Jn. 4.18): a clear description of a perfect church.

This is the underlying spiritual reason for the present attack on Nigeria and in particular the church in Nigeria, by terrorism, suicide killings and threat of national disintegration.

However, the good news is that God’s vengeance is about to fall on those being used by Satan to attack the church and the nation; the church and the nation will be delivered and saved!

Psalms 58:9-11 KJV: Before your pots can feel the thorns, he shall take them away as with a whirlwind, both living, and in his wrath. (10) The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked. (11) So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.

The ‘pots’ here are symbolic of vessels of honour in the church (2 Tim. 2.20-21).

Zechariah 14:20-21 KJV: In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD; and the pots in the LORD’S house shall be like the bowls before the altar. (21) Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto the LORD of hosts: and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and seethe therein: and in that day there shall be no more the Canaanite in the house of the LORD of hosts.

The ‘thorns’ are symbolic of demonic and human satanic messengers:

2Corinthians 12:7 KJV: And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.

God’s vengeance will fall upon them and destroy them before they can harm the ‘man-child’ in the Church.

Psalms 55:23 KJV: But thou, O God, shalt bring them down into the pit of destruction: bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; but I will trust in thee.

Jeremiah 23:19-20 KJV: Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD is gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind: it shall fall grievously upon the head of the wicked. (20) The anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly.

Observe that this is something God will do in the latter days: then end-time, this 3rd day, which we are presently living in.

So, this vengeance of God upon messengers of Satan who want to kill the ‘man-child’ in the church is imminent: they will be destroyed and the man-child will be saved, will grow and fulfill its destiny to break, rule and disciple the nations and so close (Mt. 24:14) this age
