MERCY, RIGHTEOUSNESS AND LIFE
(week 52/16)
OLUBI JOHNSON

Firstly, we want to THANK GOD on behalf of ALL our readers for bringing us to the end of 2016!

As we close this year, we bring a message of instruction of HOW to triumph ALWAYS by the mercy of God!

Proverbs 21:21 KJV:  He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.

Here, the scripture tells us that anyone who follows: pursues RIGHT-STANDING AND MERCY will find LIFE, RIGHT-DOING AND HONOUR!

How then do we pursue right-standing?

By FREQUENTLY cleaning our hearts with the blood of Jesus through HONEST ADMISSION and confession of our sins:

1John 1:7-10 KJV:  But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. (8)  If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. (9)  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (10)  If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Now, it is the same HONESTY of heart that causes us to confess our sins that attracts the mercy of God:

Proverbs 28:13 KJV:  He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

Now, it is the mercy of God by which we receive God’s life from the air upon our souls: wills, minds and emotions; and bodies and circumstances that causes us:

  1. Not be consumed:

Lamentation 3:22 KJV:  It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

  1. To be faithful:

1Corinthians 7:25 KJV:  Now concerning virgins I have no commandment of the Lord: yet I give my judgment, as one that hath obtained mercy of the Lord to be faithful.

  1. To triumph ALWAYS:

Romans 9:16 KJV:  So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

2Corinthians 2:14 KJV:  Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

James 2:13 KJV:  because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

So, as we close 2016 and enter 2017 let us watch and pray always constantly asking God for His mercy:

Hebrews 4:16 NIV:  Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
