OVERTHROWING BABYLON IN NIGERIA
(week 25/14)
OLUBI JOHNSON

In our article last week, we saw that God is presently empowering the church with wisdom and power to prevail over the religious system (symbolized by the whore or Babylon) and the political system (symbolized by beasts), so that the church can disciple ALL nations: every tribe, tongue and kindred and so close the age (Mt. 24.14).

Nigeria, the physical nation, beyond the rivers of Ethiopia, which is divided by the rivers Niger and Benue is destined to be the FIRST nation that will experience this overcoming of Babylon and the beast.

The spiritual warfare over Nigeria intensified when the 4 blood moon tetrad began on April 15, 2014 EXACTLY the same night about 270 schoolgirls were abducted by an extremist sect, Boko Haram from a school in Chibok in North Eastern Nigeria.

Nigeria has been plagued with supernatural corruption and bad leadership since Independence from the British in 1960, so now God is using the Zion church in Nigeria through intense spiritual warfare to dethrone the Babylon spirit in the air over Nigeria and so control the ‘beast’, the political system like Esther and Mordecai did in Persia.

Esther 8:7-8 NKJV: Then King Ahasuerus said to Queen Esther and Mordecai the Jew, “Indeed, I have given Esther the house of Haman, and they have hanged him on the gallows because he tried to lay his hand on the Jews.  (8) You yourselves write a decree concerning the Jews, AS YOU PLEASE, in the king’s name, and seal it with the king’s signet ring; for whatever is written in the king’s name and sealed with the king’s signet ring no one can revoke.”

Esther 10:2-3 NKJV: Now all the acts of his power and his might, and the account of the greatness of Mordecai, to which the king advanced him, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia?  (3) For Mordecai the Jew was second to King Ahasuerus, and was great among the Jews and well received by the multitude of his brethren, seeking the good of his people and speaking peace to all his countrymen.

For this to take place, Babylon, symbolized by Haman (Est.6.13; 7.10; 9.14), must fall or be dethroned or overthrown from her position of dominion over the ‘beast’: the political system (Rev. 17.3, 9-11) and the ‘waters’: the people (Rev.17.15).

Revelation 18:2 KJV: And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

Many Christians and leaders have unwittingly through rebellion, stubbornness and covetousness (1 Sam. 15.23) allowed the Babylon spirit to operate in their souls (Rev. 18.13, Ps. 106.15) and churches; however, the good news is NOW you can come out of her by confessing and forsaking the sins of rebellion, stubbornness and covetousness (Col. 3.5).

Revelation 18:4 KJV: And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

As the Babylon spirit is overthrown or dethroned in the church and nation, then the scripture in Ps. 144:7-15 shall be fulfilled:

Psalms 144:7-9 KJV: Send thine hand from above; rid me, and deliver me out of great waters, from the hand of strange children;  (8) Whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood.  (9) I will sing a new song unto thee, O God: upon a psaltery and an instrument of ten strings will I sing praises unto thee.

The ‘waters’ here is the spiritual power that the devil is using through the mouths of unregenerate men and carnal Christians to dominate the air and cause the spirit of Babylon to dominate the ‘beast’ and the people.

Revelation 12:15 KJV: And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.

Proverbs 18:21 KJV: Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Proverbs 11:11 KJV: By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.

Psalms 144:10-15 KJV: It is he that giveth salvation unto kings: who delivereth David his servant from the hurtful sword.  (11) Rid me, and deliver me from the hand of strange children, whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood:  (12) That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace:  (13)  That our garners may be full, affording all manner of store: that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our streets:  (14)  That our oxen may be strong to labour; that there be no breaking in, nor going out; that there be no complaining in our streets.  (15)  Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the LORD.

It is obvious that at the moment, there is no nation on earth that is enjoying the conditions shown here: Nigeria will be the FIRST of many nations that will experience this fulfilling:

Zechariah 2:7-11 KJV: Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon.  (8) For thus saith the LORD of hosts; after the glory hath he sent me unto the nations, which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.  (9) For, behold, I will shake mine hand upon them, and they shall be a spoil to their servants: and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me.  (10) Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the LORD.  (11) And MANY NATIONS SHALL BE JOINED TO THE LORD IN THAT DAY, AND SHALL BE MY PEOPLE: and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto thee.

In experiencing this, Nigeria and many nations will be ‘eating’ of the powers of the age to come (Heb. 6.5); we will look at this in more detail next week.
