THE REMNANT THAT ESCAPE
(week 42/17)
DEOYE OBE, OLUBI JOHNSON AND GBOYEGA ADESIYAN

2Kings 19:30-31 KJV: And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall yet again take root downward, and bear fruit upward. (31) For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and they that escape out of mount Zion: the zeal of the LORD of hosts shall do this.

There are three key words or phrases to note in the above verses:

(a) REMNANT

(b) ESCAPE

(c) TAKE ROOT DOWNWARD.

(A)       THE REMNANT

Who are the remnant?

Generally speaking, the remnant is “the left over or small portion”.

Prophetically, it speaks of the first of the first fruits of the perfect Zion Church that is about to emerge with the glory of God from beyond the rivers of Ethiopia in the land where the rivers divide (Nigeria) that have not bowed their knees to Baalim, a type of idolatrous New Testament covetousness (Rom.11:4-6; Col. 3:5; Eph. 5:5).

Zephaniah 3:10-13 KJV: From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia my suppliants, even the daughter of my dispersed, shall bring mine offering. (11) In that day shalt thou not be ashamed for all thy doings, wherein thou hast transgressed against me: for then I will take away out of the midst of thee them that rejoice in thy pride, and thou shalt no more be haughty because of my holy mountain. (12) I will also leave in the midst of thee an afflicted and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of the LORD. (13) The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid. (Isa. 18:1-3).

Isaiah 18:3 NIV… whose land the rivers divide.

(B)       Escape from what? Temptations at two levels

(1) Personal temptations that daily come against them.

1Corinthians 10:13 KJV: There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

(2) The temptation that has come to try all (Christians and unbelievers) that dwell upon the earth.

Revelation 3:10 KJV: Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

The end time temptations

Luke 21:25-36 KJV: And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; (26) Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. (27) And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. (28) And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. (29) And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees; (30) When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand. (31) So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. (32) Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled. (33) Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. (34) And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. (35) For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. (36)Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

(C)       TAKE ROOT DOWNWARD:-

The remnant of Israel that has escaped take root downward  till they are rooted and grounded in divine love and consequently filled with all the fulness of God bodily. This means having permanent access to the power of the Spirit without measure through the physical body, like the Lord Jesus did.

Ephesians 3:16-19 KJV: That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; (17) That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, (18) May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; (19) And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

This seems impossible naturally speaking, just like it was seemed impossible for a virgin to conceive! But the zeal of the Lord of Hosts shall perform it. This phrase was used only twice in the Bible

2Kings 19:31 KJV: For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and they that escape out of mount Zion: the zeal of the LORD of hosts shall do this.

Isaiah 9:6-7 KJV: For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. (7) Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

Why is it important that the remnant that is escaped of the house Judah take root downward?

Firstly, we understand by the books and from recent prophetic messages that we are now in the time and season of the manifestation of the Spirit without measure (the glory of God) (Hos. 6:2; Lk. 13:32). It is the divinely appointed time to bring forth, through travail, a Ruler in Israel!

Micah 5:2-3 KJV: But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little (remnant) among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting. (3) Therefore will he give them up, until the time that she which travaileth hath brought forth: then the remnant of his brethren shall return unto the children of Israel.

Revelation 12:5 KJV: And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne. (Rom. 8:19-25).

Those that are not rooted and grounded in love in this time shall fall away because of the abounding iniquity.

Matthew 24:12 KJV: And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

Many will first fall away from the faith temporarily and then be restored later but with loss of reward. Some however, will fall away from the faith and permanently go back to a life of sin and be eternally damned in hell fire (Heb. 6:4-8,10, 26-32).

Luke 8:13 KJV: They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

2Thessalonians 2:3 KJV: Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

To draw back from being rooted and grounded in divine Love is to end up falling away.

The remnant that escape and arise with the fulness of God shall dispel the present gross darkness covering the people and deliver many that are appointed to death. (Isa. 60:1-3).

Psalms 102:19-20 KJV: For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the LORD behold the earth; (20) To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death;

Psalms 79:11 AMP: Let the groaning and sighing of the prisoner come before You; according to the greatness of Your power and Your arm, spare those who are appointed to die!

The tensions between America and North Korea and the tension in the Middle East and Europe, to name a few, have great potential to cause affliction and many deaths in the world population.

 The remnant Zion Church will bring peace and stability to the shaking of the nations so that the gospel of the Kingdom is demonstrated by the power and the glory of God to every ethnic group on earth (Mat. 24:14).

It is to this church that the desire of nations will come (Hag. 2:7-9) because through them, God will give the Pharaohs (a type of earthly kings and governments) an answer of peace (Gen. 41:16) to solve the various economic, environmental and political challenges that seems to have no answer through the ability of the mind of Christ.

The Zion Church will accomplish this by the diligent use of the Blood (Heb. 13:20,21) the Word (1Jn. 2:5) and the Spirit(1Jn. 4:12-13) to watch and pray always to escape the temptations that have come to try all that dwell on the earth and continue till we become rooted, grounded and perfected in divine Love and become like Christ (1Jn. 4:17) .

1Peter 1:4 AMP: By means of these He has bestowed on us His precious and exceedingly great promises, so that through them you may escape [by flight] from the moral decay (rottenness and corruption) that is in the world because of covetousness (lust and greed), and become sharers (partakers) of the divine nature.

We are to, by constantly maintain the consciousness of God’s Presence, seeing by faith Him that is invisible (Heb. 11:27; Ps. 16:8; Prov. 3:6):

We must pray frequently, continually with thanksgiving by communing with the Lord with our thoughts, words and speaking in tongues and giving of thanks.

Colossians 4:2 KJV: Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;

Acts 1:14 KJV: These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
