Strength Out Of Weakness
(week 47/02)

Hebrews 11:32-34 (KJV) And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets: Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

Here, the scripture reveals to us that some of the Old Testament saints through faith ‘out of weakness were made strong’.

In our article this week we want to see how to receive strength out of weakness.

To receive strength out of weakness you need to have the right mental attitude when you are feeling weak, either physically or spiritually or both.

Start thinking in your mind that you are strong ‘for as a man thinketh in his heart so is he’ (Prov. 23. 7).

Now this is not just wishful thinking because the scripture reveals in:

2 Corinthians 12:9 (KJV) And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
2 Corinthians 12:19 (NIV) That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Joel 3:10 (KJV) Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong.

What does God mean by saying ‘My strength is made perfect in weakness’?

A more modern word for perfect in this context is the word complete.

This means that God’s strength is about to finish, or complete as it were, the last leg or lap of its race in your situation, when you are feeling weak. Recall that in a relay race you have the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th legs or laps of the race. The 4th or the last leg finishes or completes the race.

So when you are feeling weak in any situation or circumstance God’s strength is about to complete the last leg of the task, so do not give up then! The victory is just round the corner.

The task has not yet been completed, so start thinking in your mind and then saying with your mouth that you are strong.

Furthermore, continue whatever corresponding physical actions you need to take in the situation and you will find the Holy Spirit will give you supernatural strength out of that weakness to complete victory God wants you to have in the circumstance or situation.
