The Right Hand of God
(week 25/04)

Psalms 98:1-3 NKJV: Oh, sing to the LORD a new song! For He has done marvelous things; His right hand and His holy arm have gained Him the victory. 2 The LORD has made known His salvation; His righteousness He has revealed in the sight of the nations. 3 He has remembered His mercy and His faithfulness to the house of Israel; All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

Here the scripture tells us that God’s right hand and His holy arm have given Him the victory.

What then are God’s right hand and His holy arm?

Romans 8:34 NKJV: Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.

God’s right hand and His holy arm is the intercessory ministry of Christ at God’s right hand released into the earth through our praying in the spirit: when we pray in tongues by the supernatural utterance of the Holy Spirit who is speaking what He and the Lord Jesus have consulted and discussed:

Romans 8:26-27 NKJV: Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

Acts 2:4 NKJV: And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

John 16:13 NKJV: However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

Why then do we need God’s right hand?

Because of the limitations and weaknesses of our human minds, emotions and wills: a consequence of the sin nature in man.

Isaiah 59:12-16 NKJV: For our transgressions are with us, And as for our iniquities, we know them: 13 In transgressing and lying against the LORD, And departing from our God, Speaking oppression and revolt, Conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood. 14 Justice is turned back, And righteousness stands afar off; For truth is fallen in the street, And equity cannot enter. 15 So truth fails, And he who departs from evil makes himself a prey. Then the LORD saw it, and it displeased Him That there was no justice. 16 He saw that there was no man, And wondered that there was no intercessor; Therefore His own arm brought salvation for Him; And His own righteousness, it sustained Him.

The sin nature in our minds, wills and emotions hinder us from interceding effectively so God’s right hand and His righteousness through Christ Jesus brings us salvation and victory.

The right hand of God and His holy arm will bring about worldwide revival of the fear of God and salvation to all nations:

Isaiah 59:17-21 NKJV: For He put on righteousness as a breastplate, And a helmet of salvation on His head; He put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, And was clad with zeal as a cloak. 18 According to their deeds, accordingly He will repay, Fury to His adversaries, Recompense to His enemies; The coastlands He will fully repay. 19 So shall they fear The name of the LORD from the west, And His glory from the rising of the sun; When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the LORD will lift up a standard against him. 20 “The Redeemer will come to Zion, And to those who turn from transgression in Jacob,” Says the LORD. 21 “As for Me,” says the LORD, “this is My covenant with them: My Spirit who is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your descendants, nor from the mouth of your descendants’ descendants,” says the LORD, “from this time and forevermore.”

How then does this right hand and holy arm of God operate?

It operates by us putting on the whole armour of God and then engaging in prayer in the spirit daily:

Ephesians 6:12-18 NKJV: Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints–

Now, because God is love (1 Jn. 4. 8), the whole armour of God is actually all of the attitudes of the love of God revealed in 1 Cor. 13. 4-8:

1. Girdle of truth: attitude of honesty

2. Breastplate of righteousness: no condemnation: attitude of rightstanding with God.

3. Feet shod with preparation of gospel of peace: attitude of meekness and lowliness (1. Pet. 3.15)

4. Shield of faith: attitude of faith- believing the best.

5. Helmet of salvation: attitude of hope.

6. The sword of the Spirit: the Word of God by which the love of God is perfected (1 Jn. 2.5).

So by confessing, meditating in, praying in the spirit about, and practicing the love of God as described in 1 Cor. 13. 4-8 as a daily habit one will be putting on the whole armour of God.

With this armour in place all of our praying in the spirit will now be effective and so the right hand of God and His holy arm will give us the victory and bring about a worldwide revival in this hour.
