SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES 2
(week 51/11)
Olubi Johnson

In our article last week, we saw that as we search the scriptures as a daily habit diligently, the Holy Spirit will show us the symbolic codes that apply to our lives and the treasures of wisdom and knowledge He wants to give us and then enable us to experience their physical reality.

This week, we will see in more detail how to search the scriptures daily and diligently.

How then do we search the scriptures daily diligently?

1. By balanced Bible reading

2. Praying in the Spirit with tongues and travail

Balanced Bible reading involves reading about 7-13 verses each from the Old Testament, New Testament, Proverbs, Psalms and Gospels daily (doing this will cause you to read the whole Bible, slowly but meditatively in about 3-4 years). This will give the Holy Spirit the scope to show you hidden truth in the Word which is scattered throughout all scripture:

Isaiah 28:13 KJV: But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

2Timothy 3:16-17 KJV: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: (17) That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

Praying in the Spirit in tongues and travail causes you to speak divine mysteries, the ‘pictures’ or thoughts of which the Holy Spirit will put into your mind and then explain to you using the types and shadows in the scripture.

1Corinthians 14:2 KJV: For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

1Corinthians 2:7 KJV: But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:

1Corinthians 2:9-10 KJV: But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.  (10) But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

1Corinthians 2:13 KJV: Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

1Corinthians 2:16 KJV: For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

As you do this as a daily diligent habit, the Lord will gradually reveal to you His plan for your life hidden in His Word and the treasures of wisdom and knowledge He wants to give to you to make you a blessing to all the nations of the earth as revealed in

Genesis 22:18 KJV: And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

Galatians 3:29 KJV: And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
