WAITING FOR THE GLORY
(week 43/14)
OLUBI JOHNSON

Luke 12:36-46 KJV: And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.  (37) Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.  (38) And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.  (39) And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.  (40) Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.  (41) Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all?  (42) And the Lord said, who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?  (43) Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.  (44) Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.  (45) But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;  (46) The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.

Here the Lord teaches us to be ready for His return: His return to His church in His perfection and fulness of His glory:

Malachi 3:1-3 KJV: Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.  (2) But who may abide the day of his coming? And who shall stand when he appeareth? For he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap:  (3) And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.

2 Thessalonians 1:10 KJV: When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.

Galatians 5:5 KJV: For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

Colossians 1:27-28 KJV: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:  (28) Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

This hope of glory for which we wait will cause us to experience the fulness of THE SPIRIT WITHOUT MEASURE IN OUR PHYSICAL BODIES:

Romans 8:23-25 KJV: And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.  (24) For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?  (25) But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

2 Corinthians 4:10-11 KJV: Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.  (11) For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.

Philippians 3:11 KJV: That if possible I may attain to the [spiritual and moral] resurrection [that lifts me] out from among the dead [even while in the body].

We wait ACTIVELY and not passively by WATCHING, PRAYING AND FEEDING ON THE WORD IN DUE SEASON.

Luke 21:36 KJV: Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Acts 20:32 KJV: And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
