STUDY TO SHOW YOURSELF APPROVED UNTO GOD
(week 28/17)
DEOYE ABRAHAM OBE AND OLUBI JOHNSON

2Timothy 2:15 KJV: Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

God wants us to study to show ourselves approved unto God and not just unto men.

Hence, it is important now to acquire a spiritual education, which comes only by studying the Word of God.

This will happen IF we superimpose spiritual education upon our secular education.

Secular education must come FIRST (1 Cor.15.46) because if we are not literate, we cannot read and understand the bible from which we get our spiritual education.

Furthermore, secular education gives us an understanding of the physical visible creation, which God uses as an analogy to teach us about invisible spiritual realities:

Romans 1:20 KJV:  For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

The Word of God is the truth of which ALL truth has evolved: spiritual, scientific, physical or natural and legal) and by which all things visible and invisible were created and by which they are upheld.

John 17:17 KJV:  Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

Hebrews 11:3 AMP:  By faith we understand that the worlds [during the successive ages] were framed (fashioned, put in order, and equipped for their intended purpose) by the word of God, so that what we see was not made out of things which are visible.

Hebrews 1:3 AMP:  He is the sole expression of the glory of God [the Light-being, the out-raying or radiance of the divine], and He is the perfect imprint and very image of [God’s] nature, upholding and maintaining and guiding and propelling the universe by His mighty word of power. When He had by offering Himself accomplished our cleansing of sins and riddance of guilt, He sat down at the right hand of the divine Majesty on high,

God’s approval will cause us NOT to be ashamed of our knowledge of His Word and our insistence of the reality of invisible spiritual truth, because this divine approval will be shown by the CONSISTENT DISPLAY OF SPECTACULAR SUPERNATURAL WISDOM AND POWER, as shown in the Lord Jesus (1 Cor.1.24) and in the wisdom of Solomon and Daniel; and even greater (Jn.14.12; Luk.11.31) by partaking of the power of the Spirit without measure.

So, God is raising up an army of believers, who are not ashamed of the glorious gospel of our Lord Jesus; Christians who will stand for truth even in the face of death like the four Hebrew boys in the face of death (Rom.1: 16, Dan. 3:13-30, 6:8-: 28; Rev.12.11).

FOR WHOSOEVER IS ASHAMED OF THIS GLORIOUS GOSPEL SHALL NOT PARTAKE OF THE GLORY.

Luke 9:26 KJV: For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when He shall come in His own glory and in His Father’s and of the holy angels.

So God wants us all Christians to study the word of truth: the Bible and not just read it; not seeking men’s approval but His approval

To study is to meditate, think deeply, and ponder upon the scriptures: to fix the mind closely upon a subject; to dwell upon anything in thought; to muse; to ponder.

It is as we study or mediate the scriptures, pray for the spirit of revelation and wisdom and pray in the spirit (i.e. in tongues and groanings (1 Cor.14.2, Rom. 8.26)) that the Spirit of God begins to unveil the truth of the Word of God to us by revelation.

This will cause us to find by revelation:

(1) All the treasures of wisdom and knowledge hidden in Christ (Col.2: 3).

(2) The divine plan for our individual lives hidden in types and shadows with Christ in God in the written Word (Col. 3:3, Rev.22: 19).

You limit your ability to fulfill all of your prophetic destiny (to know the what, the why and the how) if you do not study this word of truth.

(3) To overcome heresies and doctrines of devils in this end time (1Tim.4: 1-3).

1Corinthians 11:19 KJV: For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.

Acts 20:32 KJV: and now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

Acts 2: 22 KJV: Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

SO, BY USING THE BLOOD (HEB.13.20-21), THE WORD (1 JN. 2.5; 2 PET. 1.4) AND THE SPIRIT (1 JN. 4.12-13) TO PRAY WITH ALL TYPES OF PRAYER IN THE SPIRIT IN ORDER TO RIGHTLY DIVIDE THE WORD OF TRUTH. (Eph.6: 17-18, Gal.4: 19, 1Tim.2: 1), we will study to show ourselves approved unto God!
