MORE THAN CONQUERORS

Romans 8:19-23 KJV:  For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. (20)  For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, (21)  Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. (22)  For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. (23)  And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

Romans 8:26-39 NIV:  Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. (27)  Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. (28)  And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. (29)  For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. (30)  Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. (31)  What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? (32)  He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? (33)  Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. (34)  Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. (35)  Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? (36)  As it is written: “FOR YOUR SAKE WE ARE KILLED ALL DAY LONG; WE ARE ACCOUNTED AS SHEEP FOR THE SLAUGHTER.” (37)  Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. (38)  For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, (39)  nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

In these scriptures above, God the Holy Spirit reveals to us through Paul that the purpose of groaning in the Spirit is to inject the life of God into our physical mortal bodies and so manifest the glory of God to deliver creation from the bondage of corruption, like the Lord Jesus did during His ministry: He healed the sick, cleansed the lepers, raised the dead, calmed storms, fed over five thousand people supernaturally with just five loaves of bread and two fishes!

This fulfills:

1John 3:8 NKJV:  He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

God’s purpose is for us to do all that Jesus did and more:

John 14:12 KJV:  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Ephesians 4:15 KJV:  But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

In Romans 8.26-29 above, we see that through prayer in the Spirit with groanings by God’s mercy and grace, the Holy Spirit causes Christ to be formed in us (Gal. 4:19) so become transformed and so be conformed to the image of Christ in this lifetime (1 Jn. 4:17).

In verse 31-39, we see that as we pray in the Spirit, Christ Himself is making intercession for us through us (vs. 34, Jn. 16:13, Act. 2:4).

This love of God released by the grace and mercy of God through prayer makes us MORE THAN CONQUERORS and nothing (except ourselves, by not cooperating with God through prayer in this manner) can separate us from this love of God.

This power of the Holy Spirit being released through us for us overcomes: tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril, sword, death, life, angels, principalities, powers, things present, things to come, height, depth or any other created thing!
